Automated Monitoring System for Dams

Automated Instrumentation and Monitoring System for Dams

The Public Utilities Board (PUB), Singapore's national water agency, is proactively working on safeguarding its coastal reservoir structures, especially the Estuarine reservoirs, which house nine out of the seventeen reservoirs in Singapore.
To support PUB's objective, Maxwell GeoSystems' MissionOS has been deployed for the Dam Automation Instrumentation Monitoring System (DAIMS) in collaboration with Ryobi Geotechnique Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) for instrument installation and monitoring activities.
The DAIMS currently incorporates Ground Settlement Points (GSM), Turbidity Sensors (TB), Vibration Meters (VM), and Weir Monitor Piezometers (WMP), ensuring real-time monitoring across the Estuarine reservoirs.
With successful implementation spanning 14 months, the DAIMS has established robust instrumentation and continuous monitoring capabilities.
Additionally, the DAIMS features a crucial “System Health Report” function, enabling PUB to monitor the condition and status of the instruments within the reservoirs. This monthly assessment guarantees a 100% availability of records, fulfilling regulatory requirements.
The project is scheduled for completion by January 2026.
